WHAT WE BELIEVE

We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and the basis of our beliefs. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the Good News of salvation to lost mankind.

1.        We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:15-17: Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; I Thessalonians 2:13)

2.       We believe in the virgin birth of Christ. (Matthew 1:20-23; Luke 1:26-38)

3.       We believe there is one true and living God, a spirit infinite in being, and perfect; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; each possessing the

whole divine essence, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the work of redemption. (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 2:18; II Corinthians 13:14)

4.       We believe God created mankind holy under the law, which, had it been obeyed would have secured to him eternal life; by voluntary disobedience mankind fell from that holy state, and, in consequence, spiritual, temporal and eternal death has been entailed upon the human race; and that while there is no way to escape temporal death, there is a deliverance for the spiritual and eternal death through salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:27; Colossians 1:14; I Peter 1:18-19; Hebrews 9:22; Ephesians 1:7)

5.       We believe that salvation is wholly of grace through faith, procured in no part nor by any works or merit on our part, but solely by the atonement and righteousness of Christ.  We believe our redemption is through the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:8; John 3:16; Isaiah 53:4-5; Hebrews 7:25; Colossians 1:4; I Peter 1:18-19; Hebrews 9:22; Ephesians 1:7)

6.       We believe in the personal and eternal election according to the everlasting love and purpose of God. (II Timothy 1:8; II Thessalonians 2:13-14; Romans 8:28-31; Ephesians 1:4)

7.       We believe that justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal from all sin.  Sinners, who believe in Christ, through the atonement that Christ has made; not for any work in them or done by them, but on account of the obedience and satisfaction of Christ, and that they, by resting on Him and His righteousness by faith receive justification. (Romans 3:23; Romans 4:5)

8.        We believe that none is saved without regeneration; that this

spiritual rebirth is the work of the Holy Spirit, in connection with the work of God; that it consists of creating spiritual life within the soul, and manifests itself in faith, repentance and holiness of conduct. (John 3:3, 6:8; II Corinthians 5:17; I John 10:27-30)

9.       We believe that sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit, carried on by the means of the truth in the hearts of His people, which makes them partakers of His holiness; that this work is progressive, and is begun in regeneration, securing to the believer’s final victory over sin and death, and perfect fitness for the eternal inheritance with God. (I Thessalonians 4:3; Proverbs 4:18; Romans 8:5; Philippians 2:1, 27)

10.     We believe in the final perseverance of all saints. (John 8:31; I John 2:19; Romans 8:18; Philippians 1:6; John 10: 27-30)

11.     We believe that a visible church is a congregation of baptized believers, united for the purpose of worshipping God, and promoting the cause of Christianity in accordance with the revealed law and ordinances of the Gospel. (I Corinthians 1:1-13; Acts 2:41-42;

I Corinthians 11:2; Matthew 28:19-20; Philippians 1:1, 27)

12.     We believe that Christian Baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This baptism is a declaration to the world that the one being baptized has died with Christ and they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-39, Romans 6:4, Mark 16:16 Acts 2:41-42)

13.     We believe that the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements – bread and the fruit of the vine – was instituted in holy remembrance of Christ and is, in no sense, a sacrifice but is designed to commemorate His death, to confirm the faith and other graces of Christians, and to be a bond, pledge and renewal of their communion with Him, and their church fellowship. This ordinance is open to all who confess Christ as Lord and Savior. (1 Corinthians 11:26; Acts 2:41-42, 2 Peter 1:4)

14.     We believe in the imminent return of Christ to the earth. “Surely, I come quickly. Even so come, Lord Jesus.”  (Acts 1: 10-11; Revelation 22:20)

15.     We believe that at the return of Christ there will be a resurrection of the just and the unjust; that at that day all mankind shall appear before the tribunal of Christ; that the wicked shall be adjudged to endless punishment, and the righteous to everlasting joy, upon the principles of eternal justice.

           (Daniel 12:2; Acts 17:30-31; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 22:11; 2Peter 3: 11-12)

16.     We believe the word “marriage” means only the Holy union between one man (being born male) and one woman (being born female) as husband and wife, and that the word “spouse” refers only to a person of the opposite, originally birthed, gender who is a husband or a wife.   Marriages outside of these parameters will not be performed by church ministers or on church property. (Genesis 2:4, Matthew 19:4-6)
